I build backend systems, and the AI layers teams are now putting on top of them.

I have been writing software for more than fifteen years, most of it on the parts of a product nobody sees. At Alchemer I build Python microservices on AWS, own the backend and API behind an AI survey builder, and work on cross-product permissions and navigation architecture inside a very large legacy codebase.

I am drawn to the work other people route around: migrations with real money on the line, systems that have been running longer than the team that wrote them, and deciding what a thing should be before anyone starts building it. Off the clock I make hardware — lockers, sensors, boards I drew myself — largely because I like watching physical things respond to code.

Now: Senior Software Engineer at Alchemer — backend and API owner for the AI Survey Builder (OpenAPI contract, auth/security hardening), plus cross-product permissions and navigation architecture for Chatmeter.
Lately: Applied LLM work: debugging and hardening a production AI survey-generation API (Bedrock-backed), plus a Langfuse LLM-as-judge eval system for survey blueprint quality.
After hours: ESP32 firmware in C, MQTT over AWS IoT Core, and a 24/7 laundry locker system running on a circuit board I designed myself.
